The body's natural stride is a healthier, more natural way to run, resulting in better running efficiency and fewer injuries. We follow a lot of Daniel Lieb …

We run and sometimes dine/beer afterwards. Runs are generally in the north Brooklyn area and vary in length. You should be able to run at least 3 miles at a conversational pace (we are a chatty bunch). Come join us!
The Tribeca Running Club provides a opportunity for downtown runners to train, compete, or just go on casual group runs. Downtown Manhattan doesn't have as much of a running infrastructure as other parts of the city, so this group helps local runners stay motivated and connected, while enjoying the great paths and other running-related perks our neighborhood offers.

This group is for all beginner runners in New York City/North Jersey. This includes people who have recently started running, are starting running again after a break and people who have not started to run, but now want to do so. If your running pace is slow, do not worry. One of the goals of this group is to get faster. As we all get better, we can start training for races. I don't know about you but most other running groups expect you to run under 10 min miles (and that pace is considered slo …

This is a group for those interested in group runs starting in Long Island City. There are running clubs based in north Brooklyn and Astoria but none, for reasons I can't explain, in LIC. Goals of the group: change that fact; connect people seeking running partners; explore new routes. All skill levels welcome. Envisioning runs in the 4-7 mile range but the beauty of the experiment is it's entirely flexible to the wants of those who join!

This is a group for people who love to walk, jog, or run the steps in Morningside Park in New York City. I started this group because I love outdoor exercise and because real stair climbing is a fun, low impact way to get great cardio training. I have created various routines and workouts that include upper body training so that stair climbing can be an whole-body workout.
The greatest, funnest, and best-looking group of (wannabe) runners in NYC. Well, at least 1/3 of that is true. And we can definitely guarantee fun. Come join us for a workout, a run, a bRUNch, or just come and hang out! We encourage runners of all abilities -- especially if you think you are slow -- to come join us for a fun run. We run, eat a lot of food, make friends, and never take anything too seriously. http://nyc.informalrunning.com/
The Bridle Path Track Club is a team focused on continuing and building friendships while sharing a passion for running. The New York Harriers is a competitive running team. Most of our members race a 10K between a 5:30 and 8:30 pace. However, we do not discriminate based on speed. The Harriers welcome those who want to work hard to be the best runners they can, compete for the team, and add to our team spirit by supporting teammates. The best way to check out the Harriers is by attending a workout. We strongly encourage you to do this before applying for membership. Wednesdays are the recommended workouts for fir …

This is a group for all those in the Jersey City area that need a bit of group support and camaraderie to help shake out of the winter laziness, and take advantage of the outdoor settings we can use for exercise. I would like to try to have daily groups meeting in the parks and waterfront for a bit of mutual encouragement and friendly competition. The activities will range from calisthenics, light kettle bell routines and jogging to start, and may evolve to having a scheduled run through some of …

OK what's up with all the neurotic 9 am running groups? I use Saturday mornings to sleep in after a long week of work and other crap. Let's do a nice civilized 4 pm run in Central Park (or other locations if we want). This is the first one (because I couldn't find any other small running groups at this time, I started my own).

This is a group for anyone interested in running along the river below 14th St. I started this group to meet other outdoor enthusiasts who want to be outdoors in the morning instead of in a gym on a treadmill. All skill levels are welcomed but you should have some running experience.
We will meet for 45 min to 1 hour for "fitness" walks, gradually adding intervals of walking/slow jogging (1-3 min.) depending on the group. This is a BEGINNERS group but with the idea to make it FUN, gradually increasing our stamina and endurance..who knows we may even sign up for races around the city! We will meet at Columbus Circle by WHOLE FOODS and alternate our walks in Central Park, Westside Hwy., Battery Park, Brooklyn brige...who knows ??
