We play different sports on a regular basis. Our sports include softball, ping-pong, golf. We jog. We rotate the sports we play every weekend or so. We also mix it with social activities. I'd like to think about this as a very exclusive offer....that includes everyone.
… My run is based on two laps of moderate to fast jogging (800 meters) to then stop, do a set of sit-ups, then push ups (as many as you can). Then drink water, and get back to running two more laps to then repeat the process. I do about 14 laps total with situps and pushups in between. It usually comes out to 500 situps and 250 push ups. Before I get back on the track for the laps I'm drinking water. Even if I'm not thirsty. Small sips, nothing more. Outcome so far: The first two …
Hello! This group is for those that want to have a group or another person to run with. Sometimes it is just more fun to run with others. The purpose of this group is to give those who are new to running, those who have been running awhile or those that just need the accountability of a group a place to call home. We will do runs of different lengths and locations. This group is lead by certified fitness trainer and USA Track and Field Coach Kaylin. I have completed many half marathons and a fu …

For runners of all levels or even those who would like to begin running. I wanted to start a meetup group to form group runs on evenings and or weekends in the Northern NJ area.
We are runners in the New York City neighborhoods of Woodside, Sunnyside and surrounding areas of Queens. Our area may be less than a couple miles from that island borough to our west (and their centrally located park), but that doesn't mean we don't love running on the hills and beneath actual trees on this side of the East River! We even have a cozy track in our 'hood! Join the group and tell us where you like to run! We organize group runs and outings so that we can build a community of runne …

This group is for women in the Williamsburg/Greenpoint area who like running. It'll be a pretty casual group with runs happening once a week or so. I started it so that (1) I could become friends with some cool running ladies in the hood, (2) I could have some extra motivation to run on those more lethargic mornings and nights and (3) running with other people is fun! Runs will be pretty laid-back. I'll schedule a few 5 milers and we can see how that feels. Suggestions on types of workouts, ro …

It is always easier and more fun to get motivated and workout when you have a fun buddy to meet up with! I'm hoping to get a nice group of ladies on the Upper East Side who would like to be that for eachother - motivational workout buddies that we can be accountable to and have fun getting in shape with! Let's make fitness dates to jog in Central Park around the Onassis Reservoir in the mornings, or take a dance class after work at the gym! I work out at NYSC on 86th and Lex, and would …
Barefoot Runners NYC is a group of runners who have left their thick-soled sneakers in the dust and started running with Vibram Five Fingers, other minimal sole shoes, or totally barefoot. Maybe you've read Born to Run, or maybe you've gotten injured running and are looking for a better solution -- whatever your reason, this is the place. The body's natural stride is a healthier, more natural way to run, resulting in better running efficiency and fewer injuries. We follow a lot of Daniel Lieb …
I am new to goju-ryu, but would like to make it a daily practice. Every day but Tues/Thurs (when my sensei comes into the city), I'd love to have several other goju-ryu practitioners/enthusiasts to train with. In good weather, maybe we could do some group jogs and basic training in Central Park. In difficult weather, we could consider a wood-floored studio rental. Martial artists of all paths are welcome, but I will be focusing on Okinawan goju-ryu, as expounded by the IOGKF under Sensei Morio H …

Hi! This meetup is for fun, friendly people in the New york City area who are interested in walking around the city for fun, FIRST, and (and for fitness, second)!! In other words, this group is not for people looking to suit-up in hi-tech jogging outfits and high-performance walking sneaks with wristband weights and powerbars in their pockets.. This group is for people looking to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city while in the company of other people who enjoy the sights and sounds of th …

I wanted to start an afternoon mommy and daddys running group for beginners to the seasoned running veteran. I will always have my baby boy and jogging stroller in hand but also extend the invite to women (or men!) without strollers. I am flexible with days and times. Ideally, I would like at least a twice a week meetup. We will typically meet on the lower westside of Central Park at 2:30pm. I will give exact details of the meetup location for each run. We can start out with 3 miles and go from …
